Bala Murali Krishna was born on 6th July 1930 in sankaraguptam of East Godawari district in A.P. He Had sung in many songs in Telugu,Sanskrit,Kannada and Tamil. He acted in the movie ”Bhaktha Prahlada” and also sang a few songs in it. Bala Murali Krishna began his singing career when he was 6 years old. He first presented a complete classical concert at Thyagaraja Aradhana in Vijayawada. Then and there, he got the appreciation from the famous ”Harikatha Bhagavathar” Musunuri Suryanarayana Murty. Impressed by Murali Krishna’s talent,he addressed him as Bala Murali Krishna. From then on, his name became Bala Murali Krishna, He had the skill of playing Mrudangam,Viola,Violin and Kanjira. Bala Murali Krishna sang his debut song in the’Telugu movie” Sathi Savithri”
Awards and Achievements
Bala Murali Krishna received Padmasri,Padmavibhushan awards two national awards from Indian government. And also got many awards from different countries across the world. He received many doctorates from different universities.In 1995, He received the Mahatma Gandhi Silver Medal from UNESCO for his valuable service to arts. Really, Carnatic music lovers used to eagerly attend his concerts. Such was his fan following.
He died at the age of 86 in Chennai.
